Completely blew me away. The lush melodies and layered sounds with heavy ethnic roots woven with sharp electronic production are going to be the highlights of many a psychill set.
Favorite track: Myst.
Sol8 is an ethno-electronic project that combines the potential of electronic sound and all the beauty of ethnic musical instruments. The atmosphere of the project includes a variety of music styles and the love for creative experiments. Slow rhythms in a mesmerizing harmony, old style ethno-trance or new sense of dubstep, mysterious India or wild Africa - all this can be heard in the magical texture of the Sol8 project.
The head of the project is Natalie Karpova - a multi-instrumentalist, a professional sound engineer and a sound designer from Moscow. Natalie has an attraction for composing since childhood, but fate choosed the profession of physician for her. However, the musical art forever changed her life - she had to leave the main speciality and concentrate on creativity. The turning point for Natalie was the acquaintance with Nikita Klimenko, the head of the Chronos project, after which Natalia finally fell in love with psychill style and, having graduated from the Moscow Institute of Television and Radio Ostankino, began to work on her solo project. In addition, Natalie is fond of playing various acoustic musical instruments - percussion (djembe, kajon, conga, tabla, wadaiko), piano, sitar - so she happily performs with various third-party artists. In this way, all these instruments can also be heard in sound textures of the Sol8 project.
